NURSERY

Sydney's nursery was truly a labor of love for me, spanning over nearly 10 months of research, shopping, pinning and creating - and I loved it! Once we found out we were having a girl, I immediately knew two things: I wanted to paint her walls a light blush pink, and I wanted the least baby-ish nursery possible (aside from the furniture, of course).

For weeks I went back and forth between color schemes and ideas when finally I spotted this rug from Anthropologie and fell in love. I mean, right?

And from there, the rest of the room pretty much fell together. I researched for hours on end everything you would need to know about a nursery: the most functional layouts, the most comfortable (yet stylish) rockers, the best ways to organize a dresser, the most soothing paint colors, the most ergonomic way to set up her 'changing table' (aka the top of her dresser), the most convenient places to put lights, etc. I had envisioned a blush and gold nursery with rustic natural wood elements and brightly colored accents, and I couldn't have been more happy with the final result. It was, and still is six months later, my favorite room of the house.
