{review + giveaway} : Nuby Reusable Stacking Wash or Toss Printed Spout Cups + Bowls

This summer Nuby is unveiling a new Wash or Toss Reusable line, which include printed spout cups, printed stackable bowls, printed straw cups, trainer cups and snack pots. These items are lightweight, convenient and easy to use making them the perfect cups and bowls for on-the-go parents and toddlers. Today I'll be reviewing two of our favorite items: the printed spout cup and the printed stackable bowl.

When we first received these items from Nuby, I will fully admit I was skeptical. The cups and bowls are so lightweight, and I immediately associated lightweight with flimsy. Our family is constantly on-the-go and I toss sippy cups and bowls around like they're frisbees, so I was nervous they'd spill and drip -- especially in our new car (eek!). I hang my head in shame, though, as I should have known better and should have had more faith in our favorite brand; the cups and bowls are actually wonderfully made, and not only are they sturdy enough to wash and reuse, but they're pretty solid against leaking and spills. Sydney is a maniac with her sippys (she's currently chucking them down her slide right now), and we've never had a top pop off and/or any issues with leaking.

The sippy cups are best suited for babies ages nine months and older, and they hold 10 oz each. As mentioned, they're lightweight and easy to hold, but since they don't have any handles you'll want to make sure your little one can hang on to an actual cup.

Sydney clearly has a death-grip hold on hers.

Getting Syd to drink water has been an ongoing issue since she turned one almost six months ago. We've realized she's more apt to drink water out of straws and out of regular glasses---but we have to help her drink out of both. I threw one of these sippy cups in my bag when we were heading out to visit some family, and I was amazed with how much water Sydney drank -- the girl couldn't get enough! I realized it was due to the spout lid; each lid features a Free Flow spout, which allows liquid to easily pass through without a lot of effort from the child. The lids snap easily onto the cup (dad-friendly!), and are leak-proof against normal wear-and-tear use.

There are three cups and three lids to a pack, each lid and cup interchangeable with one another, and they come in such fun summer prints for your little one to enjoy.

The stackable bowls are some of my favorites because with as much food as Sydney intakes, I am constantly (and I mean c o n s t a n t l y) packing up healthy snacks for her. These bowls are the perfect containers for me because they're so lightweight (my diaper bag is heavy enough!) yet durable and they're the perfect size for little hands to snack. The stackable feature is also so nice because our kitchen cabinets are slowly but surely being taken over by tiny plates, cups, bowls and more, and it's nice to have some organization back (some).

The bowls are best suited for ages six months and older, and they hold 10 oz each (great size -- well done, Nuby). There are four bowls and four lids to a pack (each interchangeable with each other as well), and like the spout cups, they're sturdy enough to wash and reuse.

The entire Wash or Toss line is BPA free and dishwasher-safe (top rack only). The printed spout cups and stackable bowls will be available in July on Amazon, but you can win a set of each P L U S a set of training cups and straw cups via InstagramFor an additional entry, please comment below with what item you're most looking forward to from this Wash or Toss line!

Good luck to all!

Sarah

Exciting News!

Hello, everyone!

June -- already?! Where has time gone? I can't believe June is already here, but I've got two pieces of exciting news to share with you all!

I know I've been a little MIA lately, but I've added a little more to my plate and am still trying to figure out how to balance everything. After a lot of thought and support and encouragement from my family and friends, I've decided to open a paper shop for custom designs -- finally! I've been toying with the idea to open my own shop for years, and the idea finally came to fruition after I received a few orders for birthday invitations.
Introducing Belle Paper Co -- your one-stop-shop for all your event's paper needs! Custom invitations, envelope designs, menus, place cards, labels and more. I've received quite a bit of support and encouragement already, and I can't tell you all how much it means to me. Really -- thank you from the bottom of my heart. This is a fairly scary venture for me, but I truly enjoy designing and creating beautiful paper items. Here's a look at the most recent invitations I created for one special little girl's first birthday party.

As of right now I only have an Instagram page (@bellepaperco), so you can follow me there to see all my work so far. Ideally I'd love to open up an actual shop, but for right now I'm okay with just my little shop page. :-) I'm also taking orders and inquiries through email (bellepaperco@gmail.com), so feel free to give me a shout!

My second piece of exciting news is I've teamed up with Nuby for the launch of their summer line, and I will be unveiling their NEW products all throughout the month of June! I will also be hosting a few fun giveaways of these new products (including one today!), which we have been testing for a few months now -- and they're AWESOME.

One of our favorite new items of their line is the Busy Sipper 2 Step Sippy Cup, which is essentially a larger sippy cup that transitions into a water bottle as your toddler grows -- and at 16 months, it's perfect for Sydney right now. The cup comes with two interchangeable spouts: the No-Spill Soft Silicone Spout and the Free Flow Pop-Up Sipper. So far Sydney has only used the No-Spill Spout, which is such an amazing characteristic of so many Nuby products. The spout features their Touch Flo technology which allows liquid to easily flow once your child begins to drink -- reason #1 why Nuby has always been a favorite of ours. Sydney didn't have the easiest time transitioning to sippy cups because there are so many out there that require the child to suck rather than just drink, and then we found Nuby and the hunt for the perfect sippy cup was finally over.

When I first opened the package I initially was a bit worried the cup may be too big and/or too heavy for Sydney to hold, but it's surprisingly light for such a high-quality cup, and Sydney actually picked it up first and tried drinking out of it. I guess it shouldn't surprise me; anything that may hold food or beverage, Sydney will figure out a way to get to it, ha!

The Busy Sipper is great for on-the-go moms and toddlers because like I said before the cup is high-quality -- aka durable. Like most toddlers, Sydney is constantly on the go, and as much as I'd like to pretend she sits in a chair and drinks her milk like a little princess at high tea, that's definitely not what happens. Our reality is a little more like her running around, sippy cup in hand, until she drops and/or chucks it in favor of playing with something else. Then she remembers she still wants her milk and picks it up and she's off again. Toddlers. They're crazy. (Although some mornings she really will snuggle up on her Pottery Barn Kids Anywhere Chair and drinks her milk quietly and so sweetly . . . and then will probably bark orders for breakfast, ha.)

Glitter Bow Headband // Hooded Marled Sweatshirt Dress (sold out; similar here) // Hunter Rainboots

The sippy cup also has a hygienic cover--that stays on really well (slow clap for Nuby!!)--which keeps the spouts clean when the cup isn't being used, AND the cup has perhaps one of my favorite features: an attachable side clip that you can hook onto your diaper bag, stroller, car seat, etc. The side clip is SO convenient, and I love clipping it to my diaper bag or gym bag and heading out.

The Nuby Busy Sipper 2 Step Sippy Cup will be available in two other designs besides this one (one featuring cartoon bugs and another featuring cartoon robots -- so cute!) both at Walmart and Amazon coming this July.

BUT if you want one sooner (and for FREE!), I'm giving a cup away to one lucky reader! All you have to do is ENTER BELOW and be sure to follow my site (click on the blue button that says "Join This Site" on the right-hand side).

60 Second Catch-Up

Hi everyone! I know I've been slacking off on blog posts a bit lately, but I've got some exciting things happening on the side, which I'll let you all know of soon...but until then, here's a 60-second (give or take some) catch-up on our life lately:

BACHELORETTE PARTY
Hosted bachelorette party in downtown Denver the weekend after returning from Cabo. Not ideal timing (especially when Sydney got sick AGAIN) but it was for one of my best friends, and we had so. much. fun. Rockies game, bars, 'disco brunch' (using that term r e a l l y loosely here), tap house, shoulder game, blowdry bar, glam hair, champagne, lingerie, amazing dinner, dance club, Calvin Harris wannabe, bottle service, dying from exhausting because I'm no longer 24. Such a fun weekend. Happy bachelorette, my beautiful friend!

BAPTISM
Baptized - fiiiiiiinally. Getting Syd baptized in the Catholic church and obtaining a library card in Minnesota are probably the two most difficult processes I hope to ever go through. Both equally painful and so complicated. But anyway, so blessed -- all grandparents were in attendance, and Jordan and I are very appreciative and grateful for having such involved parents that are so eager to be a part of Sydney's life. Ceremony went great, but Sydney wanted to swim in baptismal fountain and was not happy she couldn't. May have to install a pool. Had delicious brunch afterwards, and Syd ate pancakes. Happy baptism, my sweet girl!

BABY
Sydney had her 15-month-checkup last week: 30" tall (height percentile - 27%), 21 lbs (weight percentile - 49%, which is the highest she's ever been!!) and head circumference is 45.1 cm (33rd percentile). Wasn't a fan of the shots but handled them fairly well considering it was almost lunchtime (don't mess with her meal schedule, people). At 15 months:

  • Walking and running everywhere.
  • "Dad" is favorite word. (Carried you for 9 months, but whatever.)
  • Avocados, cheese, bananas and pancakes are favorite foods. Gotten a few licks of ice cream and popsicles, though, and I'm pretty sure they'll surpass all the other foods in a heartbeat (duh).
  • L O V E S accessories, especially bracelets and sunglasses. Girlfriend really can't get enough of her sunnies and will dig through my diaper bag specifically to find and put them on.
  • Starting to have a strong opinion about her clothes, and so far her fashion sense is pretty on point. I've heard some hilarious stories from mamas with older girls, so if wanting to wear her rain boots 24/7 is as bad as it gets, I'll take it. ;-)
  • Favorite songs are "Jack and Diane" and the alphabet song. Not kidding. We may or may not listen to "Jack and Diane" on repeat in the car when we're nearing nap time or lunch. :-/
  • Just recently became obsessed with Frozen. Welcome to 2013, Sydney. Wants to be watching Frozen all the time whenever she's not outside, and I'm fairly certain I can recite the whole movie now.
  • Hair is dark blonde/very light brown and eyes are green/light brown. Evidently I was just a surrogate.
  • Starting to really become obsessed with her daddy, and if she's up before Jordan leaves for work, she BAWLS and cries out for dad the rest of the day.
  • Loves, loves, loves books, stuffed animals, and coloring, and I love, love, love that about her.
  • Still obsessed with dogs. Now obsessed with feeding dogs as well, which makes the usual one minute task no shorter than 10 minutes now.
  • Such a sweet girl. Loves to cuddle and snuggle up to her mama, especially when she wakes up in the morning and from naps.
Just Vogue-ing it at the pediatrician's office

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Sarah

Viva Mexico!

It's been a little quiet around here lately, and I apologize -- we were in Mexico for a week, and then both Sydney and I came back with colds and Syd battled some really high temps. It's been a little hectic getting our schedule back on track, especially when you throw a bachelorette party and a baptism in the mix, but I promise I 'll catch up! Up first -- our Mexican getaway...

Every other year my parents, my brother and I have gone to Mexico, and it's been fun to see how the trip has changed over the years. (Ha---I just remembered Jordan's first Mexico trip with my family was also his first time meeting my dad. Awkward.) This year Jordan and I convinced my parents we should go to Cabo rather than Cancun, and it was so much fun exploring a new place, especially with Sydney in tow. We had a blast, and I'm fairly certain Sydney wants to go to the pool and the beach every day now. Seriously---the kid LOVES water now.

Here are some of our highlights -- enjoy!
